Artist Statement
My art brings emotion to a visual state. I love to share the excitement as I observe the amazing, beautiful, humorous, and touching moments in life. My eyes search out those elements that can be found in a human face, in the joyful action of an animal, or in nature’s delicate creation. My art reflects the precious and elegant moments we often overlook. I strive to preserve those moments in a drawing or painting, never to be forgotten and always preserved.
About Jody
I grew up in Colorado and received a BA in Painting, Printmaking, and Calligraphy from Western Colorado University, in Gunnison, Colorado. After graduation I worked in the advertising field as an illustrator. Art has always been my passion even while raising two son’s. I have eighteen years experience working in a private art school teaching and helping create curriculum, and assisting the director. At the present, I am enjoying the time I spend with individuals, and small groups instructing them in art classes, as well as working as a professional artist.
